Steve Nash Becomes 5th NBA Player All-Time To Reach 10,000 Career Assists

On Tuesday night Steve Nash reached 10,000 assists becoming only the 5th NBA player ever to reach this milestone. He needed just 5 assists to reach the milestone he had 10 in the game and also had 16 points to record another double-double. He joins John Stockton who has 15,806 assists, Jason Kidd who has 11,972 assists, Mark Johnson who has 10,334 assists and Magic Johnson who has 10,141 assists of NBA players to have 10,000 assists in their career. Steve Nash should pass both Mark Johnson and Magic Johnson if he stays healthy for the rest of the season. He probably has no chance to catch Kidd or Stockton considering he will turn 39 years old next month. Steve Nash is one of the greatest point guards in NBA history and this just adds another thing to his list of career achievements which include: 2-time NBA MVP, 8-time NBA All-Star, 5-time NBA Assist Title Champion, 7-time All-NBA Teams Selection. He should make the Hall of Fame no problem once he retires but he still searching for one thing a NBA Championship. Nash has spent most of his career in Phoenix winning back to back MVPs in 2005 and 2006 and also spent a short time in Dallas. What is amazing he he has never he made a NBA Finals. He currently holds the record for most games played without a NBA Finals appearance. He is currently on the Lakers which at the start of the season looked like he would pretty easily make a NBA Finals or even maybe get a NBA Championship in the next 2-3 years. Now almost half way through the regular season the Lakers sit in 11th place in the West and have lost 6 games in a row. They look not in any position currently to make the playoffs. Regardless of what happens Steve Nash is a sure fire Hall of Famer and this just adds to his career accomplishments.
