Adrian Peterson Became 7th Player In NFL History To Record 2000 Rushing Yards In One Season

Adrian Peterson became 7th player in NFL history to record 2000 rushing yards in one season. Peterson had 2097 receiving yards in this season.  He came up just 8 yards short of Eric Dickerson's season rushing yard record at 2105 rushing yards. Despite the great season he only had 12 touchdowns on the year. He had 100 or more rushing yards in 10 of the 16 games this year. On the season he also averaged 6.0 yards per rush attempt. He earned his 5th Pro-Bowl this season. He should also probably make his 5th straight All-Pro Team. This is his 2nd time leading the NFL in rushing yards. He also did it in the 2008 season. He also won the Rookie of the Year award in 2007. With his great season he helped the Vikings win 10 games and earned the #6 pick in the NFC Playoffs. They will have to play at the Packers (their arch-rivals) in the NFL Wild Card Round this weekend. To make this year even better he tore his ACL at the end of last season and had an amazing comeback season. He has had a great first 6 years in the NFL. Through 6 seasons Peterson has 8849 rushing yards and 76 rushing touchdowns. He has also gone over 1000 rushing yards in 5 of the first 6 seasons. It will be fun to see how Peterson follows up this record breaking season.
