Alabama Crimson Tide are the 2013 BCS National Champions

The Alabama Crimson Tide beat the Notre Dame Fighting Irish 42-14 Monday to claim the 2013 BCS National Championship. Alabama dominated this game. Alabama was ahead 28 to 0 at half and the 28 points scored in the first half by Alabama was the most any team against Notre Dame all season. The 42 points allowed are the most in a bowl game in Notre Dame history. The 42 points scored are the 3rd-most in a bowl game in Alabama history.Yesterday Alabama defense was great. Notre Dame just couldn't get anything going. Alabama out-rushed Notre Dame 265-32 in the Game. Alabama also dominated the time of possession has well. Alabama had the football for 38 minutes and 13 seconds leaving only 21 minutes and 47 seconds for Notre Dame. Eddie Lacy was the offensive MVP, he ran for 140 yards on 20 carries and 1 rushing touchdown. Lacy also averaged a crazy 7.0 yards per rush yesterday. T.J. Yeldon added 108 yards on 21 carries and one rushing touchdown. The Defensive award was presented to C.J. Mosley, who had eight tackles.
Alabama ended the season only allowing teams to score an average of 10.9 points per game which is great but not as amazing as last year's team at 8.2 PPG. Alabama finished with 13 wins this season. That makes 5 staright seasons with 10+ wins and 12+ wins in all but 2010.
The word "Dynasty" can definitely be used here now with Alabama winning 3 BCS National Championships in 4 years. They become only the 3rd team ever and first team in BCS era to achieve that feat. They join Nebraska that won in 1994, 1995 and 1997 and Notre Dame in 1946, 1947 and 1949. Alabama also becomes the first team in the BCS era to win back to back BCS National Championships. For Nick Saban he won his 4th BCS National Championship. 3 with Alabama in 2010, 2012 and 2013 and one with LSU in 2003. He is the first coach in BCS era to win 4 National Championship. He is also tied for 2nd most National Championship for a coach with Frank Leahy and John McCay and trails Bear Bryant who coached at Alabama who has 6 National Championships. This game gives the SEC 7 straight BCS National Championships. They are now 9-1 in the BCS National Championship Game. The SEC is 1-0 vs. the ACC, 3-0 vs. the Big 12, 2-0 vs. the Big Ten, 1-0 vs. the Pac-12 and 1-0 vs. Independents in BCS National Championship with the only loss vs. in the all-SEC game last year when Alabama beat LSU. Also this gives 4 straight National Championship from the state of Alabama with Alabama winning in 2010,  2012 and 2013 and Auburn in 2011. #1 team in the BCS National Championship game is now 7-8 in BCS National Championship games after winning the first 4. In the final AP poll Alabama got all 59 first place votes. Oregon came in 2nd, Ohio State came in 3rd, Notre Dame came in 4th and Texas A&M and Georgia tied for 5th.
I highly expect Alabama to be great again but Notre Dame I think will be good but probably not great. Alabama will mostly likely be preseason #1 with their great defense they have every year and with AJ McCarron coming back as a  Sr. next year. Also T.J. Yeldon returns as only a Sophomore and he could be one of the best running backs in the nation next year. I think Alabama will probably be the favorite heading into next year but winning a 3-peat I think is going to be very challenging. I think besides Alabama the top teams for next year will be Oregon, Ohio State, Texas A&M and Stanford. It will be very interested to see next season if Alabama can keep this crazy streak of winning going.
