Jim Boeheim Becomes 3rd Division 1 Coach To Reach 900 Coaching Wins

Jim Boeheim became the 3rd coach in Division 1 history to reach 900 coaching wins on Monday night. He joins Mike Krzyzewski who has 937 wins and Bob Knight at 902 wins. Boeheim got his 900th win vs. Detroit 72 to 68. I think that Boeheim is in top 5 college basketball coaches of all-time. Boeheim has won 74.7% of his games. He has also only coached at Syracuse. He started in 1969 as an assistant and in 1976 he became the head coach. My top 5, not in any order, Mike Krzyzewski, Bob Knight, John Wooden, Adolph Rupp and Jim Boeheim. He is also a current assistant coach of the USA Men's National Basketball team. He has been on the USA Men's National Basketball team since 2006 and also in 1990. He is 46-27 in the NCAA Tournament with a 63.0% winning percentage. The 63.0% is quite low and that is why Boeheim is not always mentioned among the top coaches in college basketball. Since he started coaching he has won 355 Big East wins and 5 Big East Tournament Championships, 9 Big East Regular Season Championships, a 4-time Big East Coach of the Years and a 1-time College Coach of the Year. He has helped Syracuse win 1 National Championship in 2003. He has gone to 3 National Championship Games, 3 Final Fours, 5 Elite Eights, 16 Sweet Sixteens and 29 NCAA Tournaments Appearances. He has also help USA win a Gold Medal at the Olympic in 2008 and 2012. He has also won a Gold Medal at the FIBA World Championship at 2010 and a bronze FIBA Medals in 1990 and 2006. I believe that he could easy go over 1000 wins on his career. He is one of the best college basketball coach and this just adds to his great career.

Recap of the 2012 College Football Awards

Most of the college football awards were announced this past Thursday. I go through the major awards and tell you what I think I the choose and give my opinion. I give my thoughts on the Maxwell Award, Davey O'Brien Award, Johnny Unitas Award, Doak Walker Award, Fred Biletnikoff Award, John Mackey Award, Chuck Bednarik Award, Ted Hendricks Award, Lombardi Award, Butkus Award and Jim Thorpe Award.

Maxwell Award (Top Player): Manti Te'o from Notre Dame won this award. I believe that this award should have been given to Johnny Manziel of Texas A&M. Manziel won the Heisman and I think that he was the best player. It is very hard to compare a quarterback and a linebacker. Te'o did help his team to a 12-0 record and a spot in the BCS National Championship game. He was by far the best defender in the nation this season. Te'o had 7 INTs which was tied for 2nd most in the nation. He recorded 101 tackles and 1.5 sacks. I expert looked at all of Manti Te'o plays and said he only missed two tackles all year. I thought Johnny Manziel should have won this award but Te'o was also very great. Te'o is the 7th player from Notre Dame to win this award.

Davey O'Brien Award (Best QB): Johnny Manziel from Texas A&M won this award. I totally agree with this award choice. Manziel had 3419 passing yards, 24 passing TDs and 8 INTs. He also had 1181 rushing yards and 18 rushing TDs. He broke the SEC record for total yards with 4600 total yards previously held by Cam Newton who won the 2010 Heisman. He is also 8th in the nation in passing percentage at 68.3%. He helped his team to a 10-2 record in their first season in the SEC. He is the first player from Texas A&M to win this award. Just being a freshman it will be fun to see what he can do for the next two seasons in college.

Johnny Unitas Award (Best 4th year / Senior QB): Collin Klein from Kansas State won this award. I totally agree with this award choice. Klein had 2490 passing yards, 15 passing TDs and 7 INTs. He also had 890 rushing yards and 22 rushing TDs. He had 3380 total yards and 37 total touchdowns. He is also 24th in the nation in passing percentage at 66.2%. As a QB he was tied for 2nd most rushing touchdowns in the nations. He helped his team to a 11-1 record and a Big 12 Championship and a Fiesta Bowl appearance.

Doak Walker Award (Best RB): Montee Ball from Wisconsin won this award. Ball had 1730 yards which was 3rd in the nation. Ball also had 21 rushing TDs which was tied for 4th in the nation. Ball  Richardson lead his team to a 11-1 record. Montee Ball helped his team to a 8-5 record and a Big Ten Championship despite the poor record after they upsetting Nebraska in the Big Ten Title game. This is the second time a player from Wisconsin had won this award.

Fred Biletnikoff Award (Best WR): Marquise Lee from USC won this award. I agree with this award choice. He had 1680 receiving yards which was 2nd most in the nation and 14 receiving TDs which was 3rd in the nation. He also led the nation with 112 receptions. He was also 11th in the nation in kick return yards with 802. He also returned one kickoff for a touchdown. Despite his great play USC only went 7-5 after being preseason #1. He is the first winner of this award from USC.

John Mackey Award (Best TE): Tyler Eifert from Notre Dame won this award. I agree with this award choice. He had 624 receiving yards and 4 TDs. He caught 44 passes and his average per catch was 14.2. Eifert helped his team to a 12-0 record and a spot in the BCS National Championship game. He is the first winner of this award from Notre Dame.

Chuck Bednarik Award (Best Defensive Player): Manti Te'o from Notre Dame won this award. I totally agree with this award choice. He was by far the best defender in the nation this season. Te'o had 7 INTs which was tied for 2nd most in the nation. He recorded 101 tackles and 1.5 sacks. I expert looked at all of Manti Te'o plays and said he only missed two tackles all year. Te'o did help his team to a 12-0 record and a spot in the BCS National Championship game. He had a great season to cap his college career. He is the first winner of this award from Notre Dame.

Ted Hendricks Award (Best DE): Jadeveon Clowney from South Carolina won this award. I agree with this award choice. Clowney had 13.0 sacks which was tied for 2nd most in the nation. He average sack went for a loss of 5.2 yards. He also recorded 50 tackles on the season. He was a great defender this year. He helped his team go 10-2 and earn a spot in the Outback Bowl. He is the first winner of this award from South Carolina.

Lombardi Award (Best DL or LB): Manti Te'o from Notre Dame won this award. He is the fifth winner of this award from Notre Dame.

Butkus Award (Best LB): Manti Te'o from Notre Dame won this award.

Jim Thorpe Award (Best DB): Johnthan Banks from Mississippi State won this award. I disagree with this award choice. I thought Jordan Poyer from Oregon State should had one this award. Poyer had 7 interception and only 2 less interception returning yards. Poyer also returned one interception for a touchdown. Banks had 4 INTs and 124 interception returning yards. He interceptions were tied for 23rd most in the nation and his interception returning yards were tied for 10th in the nation. He also recorded 59 tackles. He helped his team to a 8-4 record and a spot in the Gator Bowl. He is the first winner of this award from Mississippi State.

2012 Heisman Trophy Winner is Johnny Manziel

The 2012 Heisman Trophy winner was Johnny Manziel from Texas A&M. Manziel finished 1st with 2029 points. Manti Te'o and Collin Klein were the 2 other finalist. I give my opinion on the top 10 players vote receivers and give my order in which I thought it should have been.

1. Johnny Manziel, Texas A&M.
Johnny Manziel won the Heisman with 2029 points and 474 first places votes. I agree with his 1st place finish.

Manti Te'o placed 2nd in the Heisman with 1706 points and 321 first places votes. Te'o had 7 INTs which was tied for 2nd most in the nation. He was by far the best defender in the nation this season. He was looking to become the first all defensive player to win the Heisman but he came up very close. He helped his team go 12-0 and make their first BCS National Championship game. I agree with his 2nd place finish.

3. Collin Klein, Kansas State.
Collin Klein placed 3rd in the Heisman with 894 points and 60 first places votes. Klein had 2490 passing yards, 15 passing TDs and 7 INTs. He also had 890 rushing yards and 22 rushing TDs. He is also 24th in the nation in passing percentage at 66.2%. He helped his team to a 11-1 record and a Big 12 Championship and a Fiesta Bowl appearance. I agree with his 3rd place finish.

4. Marquise Lee, USC.
Marquise Lee placed 4th in the Heisman with 207 points and 19 first places votes. Lee by far was the best wide receiver in the nation this year as well as a great kick returner. He was 2nd in the nation in receiving yards with 1680. He led the nation with 112 receptions and was 3rd in the nation with 14 receiving TDs. He was also 11th in the nation in kick return yards with 802. He also returned one kickoff for a touchdown. After USC was preseason #1, USC struggled going 7-5. I agree with his 4th place finish.

5. Braxton Miller, Ohio State.
Braxton Miller placed 5th in the Heisman with 144 points and 3 first places votes. Miller had 2039 passing yards, 15 passing TDs and 6 INTs. He also had 1271 rushing yards and 13 rushing TDs. He did help Ohio State go 12-0 but they had a bowl ban for this season and couldn't win the Big Ten or go to any  bowl. I agree with his 5th place finish.

6. Jadeveon Clowney, South Carolina.
Jadeveon Clowney placed 6th in the Heisman with 61 points and 4 first places votes. Clowney had 13.0 sacks which was tied for 2nd most in the nation. He average sack went for a loss of 5.2 yards. He also recorded 50 tackles on the season. He was a great defender this year. He helped his team go 10-2 and earn a spot in the Outback Bowl. I disagree with his 6th place finish, I thought he deserved to finish 7th.

7. Jordan Lynch, Northern Illinois.
Jordan Lynch placed 7th in the Heisman with 52 points and 3 first places votes. Lynch had 2962 passing yards, 24 passing TDs and 5 INTs. He also had 1771 rushing yards and 19 rushing TDs. As a QB he led the nation in rushing yards and was 8th in rushing TDs. 8. Tavon Austin, West Virginia.
Tavon Austin placed 8th in the Heisman with 47 points and 6 first places votes. Austin was a close 2nd best wide receiver in the nation this year as well as a great kick returner. He was also 20th in the nation in kick return yards with 738. He helped West Virginia go 7-5 in their first season playing in the Big 12. I agree with his 8th place finish.

Kenjon Barner placed 9th in the Heisman with 42 points and 1 first place vote. Barner was the best RB in the nation but he didn't win the Doak Walker Award for being the best RB. Kobe Bryant Becomes Youngest NBA Player To Reach 30,000 Points

On Wednesday night Kobe Bryant scored his 30,000th point to become the youngest NBA player to do so. He needed 13 points to get to 30,000 points and scored 29 points in the game. He joins Kareem Abdul-Jabbar who has 38,387 points, Karl Malone who has 36928 points, Michael Jordan who has 32292 points and Wilt Chamberlain who has 31419 points of NBA players to score 30,000 in their career. Kobe broke Wilt's record for the youngest player to 30000 points. Wilt Chamberlain held the record before Wednesday at 35 years and 179 days old. Kobe now holds the record at 34 years and 104 days old. I believe that Kobe wants end his career has the all-time leader scorer. If he scores 25 PPG for the next 4 seasons he will break the all-time record. This record won't stand for long because LeBron most likely come along and break this record. Kobe didn't score any where near LeBron in his first two seasons. Kobe is one of the greatest players in NBA history and this just adds another thing to his great list of career achievements which include: 5-time NBA Champion, 2-time Finals MVP, 1-time NBA MVP, 14-time NBA All-Star, 2-time NBA Scoring Title Champion, 10-time All-NBA 1st Team Selection and 2-time Olympic Gold Medalist and much, much more.

2012 BCS Rankings Update: Week 15

The eighth and last BCS rankings came out Sunday. This ranking is important because it decides which if a school makes a BCS bowl game or not and which two schools goes to the BCS National Title Game. I don't really like the BCS because it doesn't give every team a chance to compete for a National Title. There will be a 4 team playoff in starting in the 2014 season which is a start. I would prefer a 16 team playoff, that way if you lose you can still compete for the National Title. The top 10 stayed almost exactly the same this week. The only change was Georgia who lost to Alabama. Notre Dame and Ohio State both finished the regular season 12-0. Notre Dame will try to stay undefeated by beating Alabama in the BCS Title game but I will talk about the bowls later on. Ohio State is already looking forward to next year due to their postseason ban for this season. No madder how good Ohio State is this year they will not appear in the BCS rankings due to their postseason ban for this season. The only surprise I had was to see Northern Illinois in a BCS Bowl. I will tell you which team is playing in each BCS Bowl and tell might thoughts on the Top 10. All mine bowl games predictions will come in a future post.

1. Notre Dame Fighting Irish 12-0
Next Game: vs. Alabama.
Last Game: @ USC, W 22-13.
Last Week Rank: 1st
Bowl Game Invited To: BCS Title.
More Information: Notre Dame's defense has looked great. They are 1st in the nation allowing 10.3 PPG on defense. Manti Te'o has led the defense with 7 INTs and 101 tackles and is looking like a the second best Heisman candidate. It wasn't pretty for the most part but Notre Dame did what no other school could do this season (not counting Ohio State) which was go undefeated. With that undefeated they will play Alabama for the BCS National Championship. This is Notre Dame's 4th time in the BCS and first time playing in the BCS National Championship. My predictions for all bowls will come later but I will say this game will have a lot of defense since the top 2 scoring defense are in  the game. My Rank: 1st
2. Alabama Crimson Tide 12-1 (7-1)

Next Game: vs. Notre Dame.
Last Game: vs. Georgia, W 32-28.
Last Week Rank: 2nd
Bowl Game Invited To: BCS Title.
More Information: Just like last year Alabama's defense is great. They 1st in the nation at 10.7 PPG allowed on defense. Alabama offense has been very good as well. AJ McCarron also has been very solid. He has 2669 passing yards, 26 TDs and 3 INTs. With the win vs. Georgia they won SEC Title Game. They will play Notre Dame for the National Title. Alabama became the first team since Ohio State in 2006 and 2007 to make it back to back BCS Title games. They also look like they could become the first team ever in the BCS era to win back to back National Championships and bring home the 7th straight BCS National Title for the SEC. This is also Alabama's 3rd trip to the BCS Title game in 4 years. My Rank: 2nd
3. Florida Gators 11-1 (7-1)

Next Game: vs. Louisville.
Last Game: @ Florida State, W 37-26.

Last Week Rank: 4th
Bowl Game Invited To: BCS Sugar.
More Information: Florida's defense is very strong. They are 3rd in the nation at 12.9 PPG allowed on defense. They have only allowed 20 points once this season. Florida finished 2nd in the SEC East due to their loss vs. Georgia. They took care of buisness going into Florida State and winning. They will play Louisville in the Sugar Bowl. It will be interested to see Florida play and see if they can step up since they have struggled at times. This is Florida's 9th time in the Sugar Bowl. My Rank: 3rd
4. Oregon Ducks 11-1 (8-1)
Next Game: vs. Kansas State.
Last Game: @ Oregon State, W 48-24.
Last Week Rank: 5th
Bowl Game Invited To: BCS Fiesta.
More Information: Oregon has a great at offense averaging 50.8 PPG which is 2nd in the nation. Marcus Mariota has been a great QB for only being a freshman just like Johnny Manziel from Texas A&M. Mariota has put Heisman like numbers with 3201 total yards and 34 total touchdowns. Kenjon Barner had a great game to cap the great regular season he had. He looks like the best RB in the nation. He is 7th in the nation in rushing yards with 1624 yards and is tied for 4th in the nation with 21 rushing TDs. Barner stills remains in the Heisman race. Oregon will play in the Fiesta Bowl and will face Kansas State. This game should have a lot of points scored in it with these two great offenses. This Oregon's 2nd time in the Fiesta Bowl. My Rank: 4th
5. Kansas State Wildcats 11-1 (8-1)
Next Game: vs. Texas.
Last Game: vs. Texas, W 42-24.
Last Week Rank: 6th
Bowl Game Invited To: BCS Fiesta.
More Information: Their offense has been great this season, scoring 40 or more 8 times out of 12 games. They are averaging 40.7 PPG which 10th in the nation. Collin Klein continues to look like the Heisman candidate (probably not the front runner after their loss) with 3380 total yards and 37 total touchdowns. With the win vs. Texas they won the Big 12 and earned a spot in the Fiesta Bowl. They will face Oregon in the game. It will be interested to see if Kansas State can stop Oregon's offense. This Kansas State's 3rd time in the Fiesta Bowl. My Rank: 5th
6. Stanford Cardinal 11-2 (8-1)
Next Game: vs. Wisconsin.
Last Game: vs. UCLA, W 27-24.
Last Week Rank: 8th
Bowl Game Invited To: BCS Rose.
More Information: Stanford's defense is very strong. They are averaging only 17.5 PPG which is 14th in the nation. Stanford did beat UCLA to claim the Pac-12 Title and the bid to the Rose Bowl. It will be interesting to see Wisconsin in the Rose Bowl after they upset Nebraska and won the Big Ten Title. Both teams in this game have good defenses. This Stanford's 13th time play in the Rose Bowl. My Rank: 6th
7. Georgia Bulldogs 11-2 (7-1)
Next Game: vs. Nebraska.
Last Game:  vs. Alabama, L 28-32.
Last Week Rank: 3rd
Bowl Game Invited To: Capital One.
More Information: Georgia has struggled a times this season. They did win the SEC East but lost to Alabama this week by 4 in the SEC Title. The game was very close and they fell short in the final seconds. Aaron Murray has looked good this year with 3466 passing yards and 31 passing TDs. Due to the 2 team per conference limit in BCS Bowls with the loss and Florida playing in the Sugar Bowl, Georgia will play in the Capital One Bowl. They will play Nebraksa who lost in the Big Ten Title. Georgia is still a very talented team with 2 losses.  My Rank: 7th
8. LSU Tigers 10-2 (6-2)
Next Game: vs. Clemson.
Last Game: @ Arkansas, W 20-13.

Last Week Rank: 7th
Bowl Game Invited To: Chick-Fil-A.
More Information: Like most SEC teams, LSU has a defense which is very strong. They are 11th in the nation at 16.9 PPG allowed on defense. Their QB, Zach Mettenberger, has struggled at times. LSU has struggled quite a bit during their 8 SEC games. At 10-2 and Alabama and Florida made the BCS, LSU gets to play in the Chick-Fil-A Bowl. They will play a 10-2 Clemson team. It will be interesting to see LSU play a tough team and see what happens. Still a great season even with the two losses and they again finish the regular season in the top 10. My Rank: 9th
9. Texas A&M Aggies 10-2 (6-2)
Next Game: vs. Oklahoma.
Last Game: vs. Missouri, W 59-29.

Last Week Rank: 9th
Bowl Game Invited To: Cotton.
More Information: Texas A&M has a very strong offense. They are averaging 44.8 PPG which is3rd  in the nation. Johnny "Football" Manziel might be the Heisman front runner now. He has 4600 total yards and 43 total touchdowns. Those numbers are better than Klein's whose was considered the Heisman front runner. More amazingly he is just a freshman. This week he broke the SEC record for most total yards in one season. The record before was held by Cam Newton who won the 2010 Heisman. At 10-2 and Alabama and Florida made the BCS, Texas A&M gets to play in the Cotton Bowl. They will play old Big 12 rivals Oklahoma. It will be fun to see these old rival fight each other again. My Rank: 8th
10. South Carolina Gamecocks 10-2 (6-2)

Next Game: vs. Michigan.
Last Game: @ Clemson, W 27-17.

Last Week Rank: 10th
Bowl Game Invited To: Outback.
More Information: They have looked very week at times. They lost to LSU by 2 and Florida by 33. They did beat Georgia by 28. At 10-2 and Alabama and Florida made the BCS, South Carolina gets to play in the Outback Bowl. They will play Michigan. It will be interesting to see the two defense go at it with both teams have good defenses. It will also be interesting to see South Carolina play a tough non-conference team. My Rank: 10th

2012 NCAA Football Conference Championship Games Predictions

This week is the week of the conference championship games. These games are important because he decides who wins conferences and who makes what bowl. Also in BCS Conferences winning your game means you earn a automatic BCS Bowl Bid. I will predict and tell little about the games. I will predict the ACC, Big Ten, Conference USA, MAC, Pac-12 and SEC's championship game.
ACC Championship Game: Florida State Seminoles vs. Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in Charlotte, NC.
The Florida State Seminoles have a record of 10-2 and 7-1 in the ACC and won the ACC Atlantic Division. Florida State and Clemson tied at the top of the Atlantic at 7-1. Florida State represents the Atlantic Division by beating Clemson 49 to 37 on September 22nd. Their two losses game at North Carolina by 1 and at home vs. Florida by 11. They are led by EJ Manuel with 2967 passing yards, 22 passing touchdowns and 9 interceptions. Florida State is looking to make their first Orange Bowl since the 2006 Orange Bowl.
The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets have a record of 6-6 and 5-4 in the ACC and won the ACC Coastal Division. Georgia Tech, North Carolina and Miami (FL) all tied at 5-3 on top of the Coastal Division. Georgia Tech won due to North Carolina and Miami both have postseason bans. At 6-6 they probably don't deserve to play in this game. They are led by their great running attack. They are 3rd in the nation at 323.3 rushing yards per game on average. Georgia Tech is looking to make their first Orange Bowl since the 2010 Orange Bowl.
Prediction: Florida State should dominate in this match up. Also long as Florida State controls   Georgia Tech's run game, EJ Manuel and Florida State should win this game easy. Florida his 8th in the nation in scoring offense and 7th in the nation in scoring defense. I think Florida State wins 41-14. Florida State earns the Orange Bowl bid and mostly plays the Big East Champion.
Big Ten Championship Game: Wisconsin Badgers vs. Nebraska Cornhuskers in Indianapolis, IN.
The Wisconsin Badgers have a record of 7 -5 and 4-4 in the Big 10 and actually came in 3rd in the Big 10 Leaders Division. Wisconsin won the division because Ohio State and Penn State are both ineligible for the postseason this year. They are led again by Montee Ball. He has 1528 rushing yards and 18 touchdowns. Wisconsin has won the Big Ten the last 2 years. They share the title with Ohio State and Michigan State in 2010 and beating Michigan State in this game last year. If Wisconsin wins they will make the Rose Bowl for the 3rd straight year. They lost the last 2 Rose Bowls. They were beat by TCU in the 2011 game and Oregon in the 2012 game.
Nebraska Cornhuskers have a record of 10-2 and 7-1 in the Big 10 and won the Big 10 Legends Division. Their two losses came to UCLA by 6 and Ohio State by 25 both on the road. They are led by Taylor Martinez who has 2483 passing yards, 21 passing touchdowns and 8 interceptions. Nebraska is looking to make their first Rose Bowl since the 2002 Rose Bowl.
Prediction: Nebraska should have a easy win in this game since Ohio State was the true winner of the Leaders Division. Nebraska beating Wisconsin 30 to 27 on September 29th. I think the same will stay true in this game. I think Nebraska wins 35-21. Nebraska earns the Big Ten's automatic bid to the Rose Bowl game and faces off vs. the Pac-12 Champion.

Conference USA Championship Game: UCF Knights @ Tulsa Golden Hurricane.
The Tulsa Golden Hurricane have a record of 9-3 and 7-1 in the C-USA and won the C-USA West Division. They are led by Cody Green. He has 2346 passing yards, 16 passing touchdowns and 9 interceptions. They have already beat UCF 23 to 21 on November 17th. This is Tulsa's  4th Conference USA Championship game. They won in 2005 and lost in 2007 and 2008.
The UCF Knights have a record of 9-3 and 7-1 in the C-USA and won the C-USA East Division. UCF and East Carolina tied at the top of the East Division at 7-1. UCF gets to play in the game since they beat East Carolina 40 to 20 on October 4th. They are led by Blake Bortles who has 2593 passing yards, 20 passing touchdowns and 7 interceptions. Latavius Murray has also had a good season with 964 rushing yards and 13 rushing touchdowns. This is UCF's 4th Conference USA Championship game. They won in 2007 and 2010 and lost in 2005.
Prediction: Tulsa won the first match-up of these teams and are at home since they won that game. I think the same think happens here. I think it will be a very close game like it was before. I think Tulsa win 28-24. I think Tulsa will be the 2012 Conference USA Champion.
MAC Championship Game: Northern Illinois Huskies vs. Kent State Golden Flashes in Detroit, MI.
The Kent State Golden Flashes have a record have a record of 11-1 and 8-0 in the MAC and won the MAC East Division. Kent State's only lost was at Kentucky 47 to 14 which is a bad losses due to Kentucky only having 2 wins. They have won 10 games in a row. Dri Archer has been very good this year with 1337 rushing yards and 14 rushing touchdowns. This is Kent State's first time playing in the MAC Championship game.
The Northern Illinois Huskies have a record have a record of 11-1 and 8-0 in the MAC and won the MAC West Division. Their only loss was to Iowa 18 to 17 on September 1st. They have won 11 games in a row. They have a very offense. They are averaging 40.5 PPG which is 12th in the nation. Their defense is good to allowing 17.5 PPG which is 15th in the nation. Jordan Lynch has been good this season with 4361 total yards, 39 total touchdowns. This is Northern Illinois' 3rd straight MAC Championship game and 4th overall. They lost in 2005 and 2010 and won last season and are looking to repeat as MAC Champions.
Prediction: I think that Jordan Lynch and the Northern Illinois offense dominates in the game. I think Northern Illinois will pull the upset. I think North Illinois wins 42-31. I think North Illinois will be the back to back MAC Champion. If either teams finishes in top 16 in the BCS and finishes ahead of the Big East Champion they will receive a bid to a BCS Bowl.
Pac-12 Championship Game: UCLA Bruins @ Stanford Cardinal.
The Stanford Cardinal have a record of 10-2 and 8-1 in the Pac-12 and won the Pac-12 North Division. They tied with Oregon but Stanford won the North because they won head to head 17 to 14 in overtime on November 17th. Stanford's two losses came to Notre Dame on the road 20 to 13 and to Washington on the road 17 to 13. Stanford already beat UCLA to past week, to win the Pac-12 North, by the score of 35 to 17. Stanford is led by their great defense which is 11th in the nation allowing 16.9 PPG. Also Stepfan Taylor has been very good with 1364 rushing yards and 11 rushing touchdowns. Stanford looks to make their first Rose Bowl since the 2000 Rose Bowl.

The UCLA Bruins have a record of 9-3 and 6-3 in the Pac-12. They won the Pac-12 South Division. Besides the Stanford loss their other two losses were at home vs. Oregon State 27 to 20 and at California 43 to 17.  Brett Hundley has been good this year with 3234 passing yards, 26 passing touchdowns and 10 interceptions. Johnathan Franklin has been very good too with 1506 rushing yards which the team, and 11 rushing TDs. UCLA looks to make their first Rose Bowl since the 1999 Rose Bowl.
Prediction: Stanford beat UCLA on the road last week this week they host UCLA. I don't see why anything will change one week later. I think Stanford wins but it is a closer game this week. Stanford defense should step up again and give Stanford their first Pac-12 Title since 1999. I think Stanford wins 31-27. Stanford earns the Pac-12's automatic bid to the Rose Bowl and plays the Big Ten Champion.

SEC Championship Game: Alabama Crimson Tide vs. Georgia Bulldogs in Atlanta, GA.
The Alabama Crimson Tide have a record of 11-1 and 7-1 in the SEC and won the SEC West Division. Alabama has been very strong this year after coming off a BCS National Championship last year and are looking to repeat. Their defense is great only allowing 9.3 PPG which is 1st in the nation. AJ McCarron also has been good. He has 2507 passing yards, 25 TDs and 2 INTs. Eddie Lacy also has been good with 1001 receiving yards and 14 receiving touchdowns. This Their only loss of the year came to Texas A&M 29 to 24 at home on November 10th. Alabama's 8th time in this game. In the past seven game they are 3-4.
The Georgia Bulldogs have a record of 11-1 and 7-1 in the SEC. Both Georgia and Florida tied at the top of the SEC East Division at 7-1. Georgia won the right to play in the game due to beating Florida 17 to 9. There only loss was to South Carolina on the road 35 to 7 on October 6th. Their defense is very  good too. They only allow opponents to score 17.7 PPG which is 17th in the nation. Aaron Murray has looked good this year with 3201 passing yards and 30 passing TDs. This is Georgia's 5th time in this game. In the past four game they are 2-2.
Prediction: This is the highest ranked match-up this week with Alabama at #2 and Georgia at #3. The winner most likely will play #1 Notre Dame for the BCS National Championship. Alabama has been great all year except for the slip up vs. Texas A&M. Georgia has looked very ugly at times this year. Alabama only loss was by 5 points, Georgia was 28 points. Alabama has only allowed 20 points or more once, Georgia has allowed 20 more points 3 times. I think Alabama's defense shuts down Georgia. I think Alabama wins 20-10 and heads back to the BCS National Championship for the 2nd straight year. Regards of who wins they will look to bring home the SEC's 7th straight BCS National Championship.
