Preview of the 2011 World Series: San Francisco Giants vs. Detroit Tigers

     
     The Detroit Tigers won the ALCS 4 games to 0 to advance to the 2012 World Series. They beat the Yankees in the ALCS and they beat the Oakland A's 3 games to 2 in the ALDS. Delmon Young was named the ALCS MVP. He hit .353 in the series with two home runs and six RBI. This is the Tigers' 11th AL Pennant and first since the 2006 season where they lost to the Cardinals in 5 games. They are looking to win their 5th World Series Title and first since 1984 when they beat the Padres in 5 games. Detroit is looking very strong coming into the World Series thanks to Miguel Cabrera who won the AL Batting Triple Crown and Justin Verlander was last season's AL Cy Young and AL MVP award winner. Verlander also made a great chance to repeat as AL Cy Young winner this season. 
     The San Francisco Giants won the NLCS 4 games to 3 to advance to the 2012 World Series. They beat the Cardinals in the NLCS and they beat the Cincinnati Reds 3 games to 2 in the ALDS. Marco Scutaro won the NLCS MVP. He finished 14-for-28 batting, tying the LCS record for hits. This is the Giants' 22nd NL Pennant and first since the 2010 where they beat the Rangers in 5 games. They are looking to win their 7th  World Series Title and 2nd in 3 years. San Francisco is very lucky to have made it to the World Series. They lost the first 2 games at home to the Reds in the NLDS ad won 3 games in a row on the road to advance to the NLCS. Then in the NLCS after falling behind 3 games to 1, the Giants rallied back to win 3 games in a row and advance to the World Series. The Giants are lead by Buster Posey who won the NL Batting Title this season with a .336 batting average. He is also a strong NL MVP candidate. 
     The World Series home field is given to San Francisco because the NL won the All-Star Game 8-0 and the winning league gets home field in the World Series. 

Predictions:  
Game 1: Detroit @ San Francisco: Detroit 2, San Francisco 1. Detroit leads the series 1-0. 
Game 2: Detroit @ San Francisco: San Francisco 4, Detroit 2. The series is tied at 1-1. 
Game 3: San Francisco @ Detroit: Detroit 3, San Francisco 2. Detroit leads the series 2-1. 
Game 4: San Francisco @ Detroit: Detroit 3, San Francisco 1. Detroit leads the series 3-1. 
Game 5: San Francisco @ Detroit: San Francisco 7, Detroit 5. Detroit leads the series 3-2.   
Game 6: Detroit @ San Francisco: Detroit 6, San Francisco 4. Detroit wins the series 4-2.      
Detroit Tigers are 2012 World Series Champions.
Miguel Cabrera is the 2012 World Series MVP. He hit .381 (8 for 21), 3 HRs and 10 R.B.I.s.
