Dwight Howard Traded to the Los Angeles Lakers

Dwight Howard was finally traded to Los Angeles Lakers in a foue team trade. The four teams were the Lakers, Magic, 76ers and Nuggets. Originally Dwight Howard wanted to be traded in February at the NBA trade deadline. He wasn't traded and then was set to opt out of his contract with his player option for next season. He ended opting in to his player option to play for the Magic next season even though he expressed to be traded. On Thursday he the Magic finally traded Dwight Howard. Lakers acquired Dwight Howard, Chris Duhon and Earl Clark. The Magic got Arron Afflalo, Al Harrington, Nikola Vucevic, Moe Harkless, Josh McRoberts, Christan Eyenga. The Magic also will receive a protected first-round pick from each of the other three teams and five overall draft picks. I think that Magic plan is probably to become the one of the worst teams in the NBA and rebuild through the draft. The Denver Nuggets got Andre Iguodala from the 76ers. He will probably play shooting guard instead of small forward. He will help the Nuggets improve slightly and he probably makes the Nuggets one of the top five teams in the West Conference. The Philadelphia 76ers got Andrew Bynum and Jason Richardson. Bynum will help the 76ers a lot inside which is what they needed a lot last season and help improve and take pressure off their perimeter players. The Lakers came out the big winners in this trade. They got Dwight Howard and didn't have to trade Pau Gasol. Now the Lakers have Kobe Bryant, Dwight Howard, Steve Nash and Pau Gasol. I think the Lakers now will probably win the West Conference over the Oklahoma City Thunder. Oklahoma City will be hard to beat but if all four of the main players are healthy they can probably beat the Thunder. I still think the Heat are a better teams with signing Ray Allen and Rashard Lewis in free agent. If the Heat and the Lakers were to meet in the 2013 NBA Finals it would be a very good and entertaining series.
