Recap of the 2012 NBA Finals: Miami Heat are the 2012 NBA Champions

The Miami Heat beat the Oklahoma City Thunder in 5 games to win the 2012 NBA Championship. LeBron James finally won is long awaited NBA Championship. Chris Bosh also got his 1st ring and Dwyane Wade won his 2nd NBA Championship winning with the Heat also in 2006. LeBron James won the Finals MVP while averaging 28.6 PPG, 10.2 RPG and 7.4 APG. He became the first player since Tim Duncan to win the NBA MVP and Finals MVP in the same season. Duncan did it last in 2003. LeBron also had the 5th most points in a single postseason with 697 points. Jordan holds the record when he scored 759 points in the 1992 NBA Playoffs. The Thunder won Game 1 had home 105-94. After that game the Heat won the next 4 games to win the series in 5 games. The Heat won Game 2 100-96; Game 3 91-85; Game 4 104-98 and Game 5 121-106. The middle three games were very closing coming down to the last minute. The Heat became the 3rd team since the NBA went to a 2-3-2 format in the Finals to win the middle three games at home. They join the 2004 Pistons and 2006 Heat to do that. LeBron also became the 6th player to record a triple-double in the clinching game of the Finals. In Game 5 he had 26 points, 11 rebounds and 13 assists. I think the Heat and Thunder Finals could turn into the Lakers and Celtics Finals in the 1980s. The Lakers and Celtics meet in the NBA Finals every from 1984 to 1987 except in 1986. The Lakers of the Celtics were in the Finals every year from 1980 to 1989. I expect the two teams to meet for most of the next years until 2016 when the Heat's Big Three's contract expire. LeBron quiet in the haters some since he won and now people can't say he never won but to completely quiet the haters he will have to win probably 4-5 or more NBA Championships. I very happy for LeBron and he can focus on continue winning rather than worrying about getting #1.
