2011 BCS Rankings Update: Week 11

This ranking is important because it decides which if a school makes a BCS bowl game or not and which two schools goes to the BCS National Title Game. I don't really like the BCS because it doesn't give every team a chance to compete for a National Title. I would prefer a 16 team playoff, that way if you lose you can still compete for the National Title. This week in College Football another 7 ranked teams lost. 3 teams in the Top 10 lost, but 2 of the teams lost to other Top 10 teams. With LSU beating Alabama in overtime. There are now 5 undefeated teams left, LSU, Oklahoma State, Stanford, Boise State and Houston. The last month full of college football is upon us and there is a lot we have yet to learn.

1. LSU Tigers 9-0 (6-0)
Next Game: vs. Western Kentucky.
Last Game:
@ Alabama, W 9-6.
Last Week Rank: 1st
Projected BCS Bowl: BCS Title
More Information: This week they played Alabama. They looked pretty good. They had to go to overtime but they got it done winning 9-6. They have a problem at QB with Jarrett Lee who threw 2 INTs, which might just show how good Alabama is, but that still isn't good. They have beaten 6 ranked teams which makes them look really good. Their defense is amazing only giving up 12 points in the 1st quarter. They have only let opponents score an average of 10.9 points per game. This week should be easy playing a 5-4 Western Kentucky which shouldn't be close. They should go undefeated, as long as they beat Arkansas  at the end of the season as well. LSU is clearly the favorite now to win it all. My Rank: 1st
2. Oklahoma State Cowboys 9-0 (6-0)
 Next Game: @ Texas Tech.
Last Game:
vs. Kansas State, W 52-45.
Last Week Rank: 3rd
Projected BCS Bowl: BCS Title
More Information: Since LSU knocked off Alabama this week, Oklahoma State is now the 2nd best team in the nation. They have a great offense averaging 50.1 PPG which is 2nd best in the nation. They have the best WR in the nation in  Justin Blackmon. He has the most TD catches in the nation with 12 TDs catches and is 6th in the nation in yards with 1039. They took care of Kansas State winning 52-45 after stopping Kansas State 3 times on the goal line to end the game. They have two somewhat easy games on the road vs. Texas Tech and Iowa State. They have to play one loss Oklahoma later on in the season at home. They are really tested already haven beaten Texas and Texas A&M on the road. They have no conference title game they have to win which helps them stay unbeaten easier. If they do win out they should face LSU in the National Title Game. My Rank: 2nd

3. Alabama Crimson Tide 8-1 (5-1)
Next Game: @ Mississippi State.
Last Game:
vs. LSU, L 6-9.
Last Week Rank: 2nd
Projected BCS Bowl: Any one besides the Title Game
More Information:  LSU put it to them. They lost at home in overtime 6-9. They were 2 for 6 on field goals in the game and they should have won if they could have made more. Still, they are only letting opponents score an average of  7.1 points per game. They have Heisman candidate Trent Richardson is a beast running the football. Richardson has 1037 rushing yards which is 9th and 17 TDs which is 5th most in the nation. Since they lost to LSU, they probably lost their chance for a National Title, but they are somewhat easy schedule left and they should get to a BCS Bowl easy. They are a really good team, but I didn't expect them to be ahead of undefeated Stanford though.  My Rank: 4th

4. Stanford Cardinals 9-0 (7-0)
Next Game: vs. Oregon
Last Game: @ Oregon State, W 38-13.
Last Week Rank: 4th
Projected BCS Bowl: BCS Title / Rose
More Information: Andrew Luck could easily be the best QB in the nation. Stanford has had a good defense allowing 16.6 points per game. They beat Oregon State on the road pretty easily. They didn't lose 2 key players since they have Oregon at home this week. They will need their defense to show up and up they are health if they want to win If they can beat Oregon they should win the Pac-12 North and probably win the Pac-12 Title Game to earn a spot in the Rose Bowl. I would hope if Oklahoma State loses to some one they pick Stanford instead of Alabama to play in the BCS Title Game if Stanford is 13-0 instead of Alabama who would be 11-1. My Rank: 3rd

5. Boise State Broncos 8-0 (3-0)

Next Game: vs. TCU.
Last Game:
@ UNLV, W 48-21.

Last Week Rank: 5th
Projected BCS Bowl: Any one besides the Title Game
More Information: Kellen Moore is very accurate with 29 TDs which is 2nd in the nation and only 5 INTs. He also has a 74.1% Completion Percentage which is tied for 2nd in the nation. They only have a 7-2 TCU left which could really beat them. Boise State will probably go undefeated. I think though they shouldn't play for the National Title because they beat cupcakes every week. They only have played 1 ranked team and Georgia was only 19th when they played. I would take a one loss SEC team or Stanford before I would pick Boise State for a National Title bid. With they want to have a bid for the National Title this year they need most if not all teams to have at least 1 loss. The average number of wins in the SEC is 5.8, the Big 10 is 5.4 wins, Big 12 is 5.6 wins and Pac-12 is 4.9 wins. In the Mountain West it is only 4.4 wins on average. They don't play hard enough teams to deserved a bid for the National Title. My Rank: 6th

6. Oklahoma Sooners 8-1 (5-1)
Next Game: @ Baylor
Last Game:
vs. Texas A&M, W 41-25.
Last Week Rank: 6th
Projected BCS Bowl: Fiesta / Any one besides the Title Game
More Information: Oklahoma was upset 3 weeks ago at home vs. Texas Tech. They are still a really good team, but they lost their chance to go the BCS National Title Game. They have the possible best QB in the nation in  Landry Jones. They beat a quite good Texas A&M team this week. They do face Oklahoma State on the road to end the season which be very hard. If they can win at Oklahoma State, they will win the Big 12 and earn a bid to the Fiesta Bowl. They still can make it to another BCS Bowl with they only lose to Oklahoma State at the end of the season.  My Rank: 7th

7. Oregon Ducks 8-1 (6-0)
Next Game: @ Stanford
Last Game:
@ Washington , W 34-17.

Last Week Rank: 8th
Projected BCS Bowl: Rose / Any one besides the Title Game
More Information: Oregon's offensive is amazing again averaging 46.0 PPG. Their only loss was to LSU the first game of the year. LaMichael James the best RB in the nation probably. They have went to Washington this week and won pretty easily. Thomas and James looked pretty good easing back into the system. They play Stanford on the road this week which will very hard. If James, Thomas and their defense shows up they should be able to beat Stanford. If they win the next 2 games, they win the North and should handle who ever wins the South and win the Pac-12 to make it to the Rose Bowl. If they lose to Stanford they will probably get an invite to another BCS Bowl Game. My Rank: 6th

8. Arkansas Razorbacks 8-1 (4-1)
Next Game: vs. Tennessee
Last Game:
vs. South Carolina , W 44-28.
Last Week Rank: 7th
Projected BCS Bowl: Any one besides the Title Game
More Information: Arkansas took out #9 South Carolina and looked good doing so. They only loss was at Alabama since Alabama lost that is why Arkansas is most likely 8th now. Tyler Wilson has been quite good. Wilson has 2626 Passing Yards which is 12th most in the nation. They beat Auburn and Texas A&M both strong wins. I don't think they can win at LSU. If they can some how beat LSU they will be win the SEC West and then win the SEC, but I doubt that will happen. They are good and can still make a BCS Bowl, but need more help to move up higher. My Rank: 8th

9. Clemson Tigers 8-1 (5-1)
Next Game: vs. Wake Forest
Last Game:
@ Georgia Tech, L 17-31.
Last Week Rank: 11th
Projected BCS Bowl: Orange / Any one besides the Title Game
More Information: They had a bye week this week. Tajh Boyd has 2674 Passing Yards which is 11th in the nation. They only lost to Georgia Tech is was a bad loss. Also they have Wake Forest this week which they need to win so they win the ACC Atlantic. They did go into Virginia Tech and win the first ACC teams to win in Lane Stadium since 2009. They should win the ACC Atlantic Division, but they might have to face Virginia Tech again for the ACC Title and they might not get lucky and win again. All and all they are a very solid team that could win the ACC and earn a Orange Bowl bid. If they loss to Wake Forest or Virginia Tech I doubt they would be invited to a BCS Bowl Game. My Rank: 9th

10. Virginia Tech Hokies 8-1 (4-1)
Next Game: @ Georgia Tech
Last Game:
vs. Duke, W 14-10.

Last Week Rank: 12th
Projected BCS Bowl: Orange / Any one besides the Title Game
More Information: They had a bye week this week. They have a really good RB in David Wilson. He has 1126 yards which is 3rd most in the nation. They only lost to Clemson at home is was a bad loss. Also they have Georgia Tech this Thursday which they need to win so they win the ACC Coastal. They should win the ACC Coastal Division, but they might have to face Clemson again for the ACC Title which will be tricky. They are a very solid team that could win the ACC and earn a Orange Bowl bid. If they loss to Georgia Tech or Clemson I doubt they would be invited to a BCS Bowl Game. My Rank: 10th
