2011 Heisman Trophy Winner is Robert Griffin III

The 2011 Heisman Trophy winner was Robert Griffin III from Baylor. Griffin finished 1st with 1687 points. Andrew Luck, Trent Richardson, Montee Ball and Tyrann Mathieu were the 4 other finalist. I give my opinion on the top 10 players vote receivers and give my order in which I thought it should have been.

1. Robert Griffin III, Baylor.
Robert Griffin III won the Heisman with 1687 points and 405 first place votes. Griffin had 3998 passing yards, 36 passing TDs and 6 INTs. He also had 644 rushing and 9 rushing TDs. He had a total of 45 TDs, 6 short of Cam Newton's 51 last year. His QB efficiency rating was tops in the nation at 192.3. He was 4th in the nation in competition percent (72.4%) and TDs. He was 6th in the nation in passing yards. He was the best player in college football even though his Bears only won 9 games. I agree with his 1st place finish.

2. Andrew Luck, Stanford.
Andrew Luck placed 2nd in the Heisman with 1407 points and 247 first place votes. Luck had 3170 passing yards, 35 passing TDs and 9 INTs. He also scored 2 rushing TDs. His QB efficiency rating was 5th in the nation at 167.5. He had a 70.0% completion percent which was 8th in the nation. His 35 TDs were 5th most. Luck was great in the red zone never turning the ball over. He probably go #1 overall in the NFL draft. He helped his team to a 11-1 record and a spot in the Fiesta Bowl. He finished 2nd last year and I agree with him finishing 2nd again.

3. Trent Richardson, Alabama.
Trent Richardson placed 3rd in the Heisman with 978 points and 138 first place votes. Richardson had 1583 rushing yards and 20 rushing TDs. He also scored 3 receiving TDs. He averaged 6.0 yards per rush. He was 6th in the nation in rushing yards and 5th in rushing TDs. He helped his team to a 11-1 record and a spot in the National Championship. He finished 3rd, but I disagree I believe that Montee Ball had a better season than Richardson. Ball scored 12 more rushing TDs and had more yards than Richardson did.

4. Montee Ball, Wisconsin.
Montee Ball placed 4th in the Heisman with 348 points and 22 first place votes. Ball had 1759 rushing yards and 32 rushing TDs. He also scored 6 receiving TDs. He averaged 6.4 yards per rush. He was led the nation in rushing yards and in rushing TDs. He helped his team to a 11-2 record and a spot in the Rose Bowl after winning the Big 10.  He finished 4th, but I disagree I believe that Montee Ball had a better season than Richardson. Ball scored 12 more rushing TDs and had more yards than Richardson did.

5. Tyrann Mathieu, LSU. 

Tyrann Mathieu placed 5th in the Heisman with 327 points and 34 first place votes. Mathieu was the best defensive player in college football. He shut down everyone he faced. 2 INTs and 5 forced fumbles. His 5 forced fumbles were tied for 6th most in the nation. He was also an great punt returner. He has 420 return yards, which was 2nd most in the nation. He also returned 2 punts for a TDs which was tied for 2nd most. He helped his team go 13-0, win the SEC and earn a spot in the National Championship. I agree with him finishing 5th.

6. Matt Barkley, USC. 

Matt Barkley placed 6th in the Heisman with 153 points and 11 first place votes. Luck had 3528 passing yards, 39 passing TDs and 7 INTs. He also scored 2 rushing TDs. His QB efficiency rating was 8th in the nation at 161.2. He had a 69.1% completion percent which was tied for 10th in the nation. His 39 TDs were 3rd most.  He helped his team to a 10-2 record. They would have one the Pac-12 South except USC had a postseason ban. He is one of the favorite for next year if he stays in school. I agree with his 6th place finish.

7. Case Keenum, Houston. 

Case Keenum placed 7th in the Heisman with 123 points and 10 first place votes. Keenum had 5099 passing yards, 45 passing TDs and 5 INTs. He also scored 3 rushing TDs. His QB efficiency rating was 3rd in the nation at 177.9. He had a 71.7% completion percent which was 6th in the nation. His 45 TDs and 5099 passing yards both led the nation. He helped his team to a 12-1 record. They lost in the C-USA Title Game and lost their chance for a BCS Bowl. I agree with his 7th place finish. He also finished 8th in the 2009 Heisman.

8. Kellen Morre, Boise State. 

Kellen Morre placed 8th in the Heisman with 90 points and 6 first place votes. Morre had 3507 passing yards, 41 passing TDs and 7 INTs. His QB efficiency rating was 4th in the nation at 176.8. He had a 74.1% completion percent which was 2nd in the nation. His 41 TDs were 2nd most in the nation. He helped his team to a 11-1 record. They lost to TCU and finished 2nd in the MWC and missed a BCS Bowl because of it.  I agree with his 8th place finish. He also finished 4th in the 2010 Heisman and 7th in the 2009 Heisman. 

9. Russell Wilson, Wisconsin. 

Russell Wilson placed 8th in the Heisman with 90 points and 6 first place votes. Wilson had 2879 passing yards, 31 passing TDs and 3 INTs. He also scored 5 rushing TDs. His QB efficiency rating was 2nd in the nation at 191.6. He had a 72.5% completion percent which was 4th in the nation. His 31 TDs were tied for 8th most in the nation. He helped his team to a 11-2 record and a spot in the Rose Bowl after winning the Big 10. I agree with his 9th place finish. 

10. LaMichael James, Oregon.
LaMichael James placed 10th in the Heisman with 48 points and 5 first place votes. James had 1646 rushing yards and 17 rushing TDs. He also scored 1 receiving TD. He averaged 7.4 yards per rush. He was 4th in the nation in rushing yards and 7th in yards per rush. His 17 TDs were tied for 9th most in the nation. He helped his team to a 11-2 record and a spot in the Rose Bowl after winning the Pac-12. He missed 2 games because of any arm injury and still was very good. I agree with his 10 place finish. He also finished 3rd in the 2010 Heisman.

2011 NBA Labor Problems Settled

After a 161 day lockout, the owners and players agreed to a deal on the 8th. Due to the length of the lockout free agency and training camp opened on the 9th. Instead of a 82 game schedule, teams will play 66 games. The season will start Dec. 25 and run until the end on April 26. The Finals will end near the end of June. I will compare important parts of the new one the old CBA and give my opinion. 

The knew deal is good for ten years. It has a mutual opt-out in 2017 so either the players or owners can opt-out after the 2016-17. The 2005 CBA was a seven year agreement,  with a league opt-out in 2011 (which the league used). In the 2005 CBA, Players receive 57% of Basketball Related Income (BRI). In the new deal players receive 51.15 percent of BRI in 2011-12. In later seasons players receive 49 to 51 percent of BRI. 1% of BRI (from the players' share) is used to fund a new pool for post-career benefits. In the old deal escrow was set at 8% withheld to ensure players receive no more than the agreed-to revenue split. If escrow withholding is insufficient, salaries are reduced the following season to compensate. In the new deal escrow will be set at 10 percent withheld in every season. If the escrow withholding is insufficient, the shortfall is taken out of the players' post-career benefits pool. Salaries are not adjusted the following season. The old amnesty provision allowed one player to be waived prior to the start of the 2005-06 season. The salary of the waived player will not count toward the luxury tax. The new deal allows one player to be waived prior to the start of any season (only one player can be amnestied during the agreement, and contracts signed under the new CBA are not eligible). The salary of the waived player will not count toward the salary cap or luxury tax. Teams with cap room can submit competing offers to acquire an amnestied player (at a reduced rate) before he hits free agency and can sign with any team.

Revenue sharing will be greatly improved in the new deal. Revenue sharing will be greatly improved. A new plan approximately triples the amount of money that is revenue-shared. Details of this plan are yet to be finalized. In the old deal some of the undistributed funds from the luxury tax were given to teams in competitively disadvantaged markets. Teams will have to spend 85% of the cap for the next two years and 90% of the cap the later years of the deal. It used to be you would only have to spend 75% of the cap. The old luxury tax, Teams paid $1 for every $1 their salary was above the luxury-tax threshold. In the new deal, teams pay $1 for every $1 their salary is above the luxury-tax threshold in the first twos season. Starting in 2012-13, teams pay an incremental tax that increases with every $5 million above the tax threshold. Teams that are repeat offenders (paying tax at least four out of the past five seasons) have a tax that is higher still. In the new deal there will be Cap holds are reduced for most players who have Bird rights or were first-round picks, and now range from 150 percent to 250 percent. Teams have three days to match an offer sheet to its restricted free agent. The old deal had a cap hold of 150 percent to 300 percent continues to count against the team's cap for its free agents who have Bird rights or were first-round picks. A team has seven days to match an offer sheet to its restricted free agent.

New contracts will be five years with 7.5 percent raises for Bird free agents; four years with 4.5 percent raises for other players (including all sign-and-trade transactions). The maximum salaries are the same as the 2005 CBA, except players coming off their rookie scale contracts qualify for the 30 percent maximum if they meet certain criteria. In the old CBA the contracts were Six years with 10.5 percent raises for Bird free agents; five years with 8 percent raises for other players. Contracts extensions in the new deal will allow players coming off their rookie scale contracts can extend for four additional seasons, although the team can designate one player who is eligible for five seasons at the maximum salary. A team can have only one designated player on its roster at any time. All other veterans can extend for four total seasons, which includes the seasons remaining on their current contract.In the old deal only allowed players coming off their rookie scale contracts can extend for five additional seasons. All other veterans can extend for five total seasons, which includes the seasons remaining on their current contracts.

Midlevel exception will be now four years starting at $5 million (base salary grows by 3 percent annually beginning in 2013-14), with 4.5 percent raises for non-taxpaying teams. Taxpaying teams are limited to three years, a $3 million base salary (which grows by 3 percent annually beginning in 2013-14) and 4.5 percent raises. Teams with cap room (therefore losing their midlevel exception) get a new midlevel that is for two years and starts at $2.5 million (growing 3 percent annually). The old allowed five years starting at the average salary ($5.765 million in 2010-11), with 8 percent raises.

Trade rules now we allow taxpaying teams can acquire no more than 125 percent plus $100,000 of the salaries they trade away (same as 2005 CBA). Non-taxpaying teams (based on their post-trade salary level) can acquire up to the lesser of 150 percent plus $100,000, or 100 percent plus $5 million of the salaries they trade away. The cash a team pays or receives in trade is limited to $3 million annually. The old deal allowed teams over the cap can acquire no more than 125 percent plus $100,000 of the salaries they trade away. A team can receive up to $3 million cash in any trade.

All this will allow will allow the league to be more competitive and function able. Last year only 6 teams made money, but now most teams should be able to make a profit. Also forcing certain amounts team can spend and give players will make the lower tier teams perform better and compete. I hope now we can have 10 year of no labor problems and all the problems the NBA has can be fixed.

Recap of the 2011 College Football Awards

Most of the college football awards were announced on Thursday. I go through the major awards and tell you what I think I the choose and give my opinion. I give my thoughts on the Maxwell Award, Davey O'Brien Award, Johnny Unitas Award, Doak Walker Award, Fred Biletnikoff Award, John Mackey Award, Chuck Bednarik Award, Ted Hendricks Award, Lombardi Award, Butkus Award and Jim Thorpe Award. My thoughts on the Heisman will come in its own post.

Maxwell Award (Top Player): Andrew Luck from Stanford won this award. I believe that this award should have been given to Robert Griffin III of Baylor. Both players were very good this year and both are Heisman finalist. Luck only had 3170 compared to Griffin's 3998 passing yards. Griffin had 36  passing TDs to Andrew Luck's 35. Andrew Luck through 9 INTs, Griffin only 6. Griffin had 45 total TDs compared to Luck's 37. Also had a Griffin completion percent was 72.4 and Luck's was only 70.0. Griffin had a efficiency rating of 192.3. Luck's was 167.5. Andrew Luck did lead his team to a 11-1 record. Griffin only lead his team to a 9-3 record. Luck was not a bad pick I just disagree. Luck will probably be a better pro than Griffin will be. 

Davey O'Brien Award (Best QB): Robert Griffin III from Baylor won this award. I agree with this award choice. Griffin had 3998 passing yards (6th most in nation) and had 36  passing TDs (4th most in nation). He only had 6 INTs . Griffin had 45 total TDs. Also had a Griffin completion percent was 72.4 (5th highest in nation). Griffin led the nation in efficiency rating. His was 192.3. He also had 644 rushing yards. 

Johnny Unitas Award (Best 4th year / Senior QB): Andrew Luck from Stanford won this award. I believe that this award should have been given to Kellen Moore of Boise State. Luck only had 3170 compared to Moore's 3507 passing yards. Moore had 41  passing TDs to Andrew Luck's 35. Andrew Luck through 9 INTs, Moore only 7. Moore's completion percent was 74.1 and Luck's was only 70.0. Griffin had a efficiency rating of 176.8. Luck's was 167.5. Both guys lead their team their team to a 11-1 record. Luck did face harder teams, I just disagree. Luck will probably be a better pro than Moore will be. 

Doak Walker Award (Best RB): Trent Richardson from Alabama won this award. I believe that this award should have been given to Montee Ball of Wisconsin. Ball had 1759 yards compared  to Richardson's 1583. Ball had 32 rushing TDs. Richardson only had 20. Ball averaged 6.4 yards per rush, Richardson only averaged 6.0 yards per rush. Ball also caught 6 TDs, Richardson only caught 3. Trent Richardson lead his team to a 11-1 record. Montee Ball helped his team to a 11-2 record and a Big Ten Championship. Richardson was not a bad pick I just disagree.

Fred Biletnikoff Award (Best WR): Justin Blackmon from Oklahoma State won this award. I agree with this award choice. He had 1336 receiving yards (7th most in nation) and 15 receiving TDs (tied for 3rd most in nation). He caught all total of 113 passes 2nd most in the nation. He had a TDs in 10 of 12 games. He also won this award last year. He is the first back to back win since Michael Crabtree in 2007-2008. He helped his team to a 11-1 record and a Big 12 Championship.

John Mackey Award (Best TE): Dwayne Allen from Clemson won this award. I agree with this award choice. He had 577 receiving yards and 8 TDs. He caught 48 passes and his average per catch was 12.0. Allen helped his team to a 10-3 record and an ACC Championship.

Chuck Bednarik Award (Best Defensive Player): Tyrann Mathieu from LSU won this award. I agree with this award choice. He was an amazing defender all year long. He shut down who ever he faced. He had 71 tackles and 1.5 sacks. He had an 5 forced fumbles which was tied for 6th most in the nation. He also had 2 INTs. He was also an electric punt returner. He was one of five Heisman finalist. He helped his team to a 13-0 record and a SEC Championship and a spot in the National Championship.

Ted Hendricks Award (Best DE): Whitney Mercilus from Illinois won this award. I agree with this award choice. He had 26 solo tackles and 52 total tackles. He also had 26 assisted tackles. He led the nation in sacks with 14.5 sacks. His team started 6-0, but now has lost 6 in a row.

Lombardi Award (Best DL or LB): Luke Kuechly from Boston College won this award. I agree with this award choice.  He played D-Line and LB this season. He led the nation in solo tackles and total tackles. He had 102 solo tackles and 191 total tackles. He also had 89 assisted tackles which was 3rd most in the nation. He also had 3 INTs and 1 INT TD. His team only managed to go 4-8 with his great defense.

Butkus Award (Best LB): Luke Kuechly from Boston College won this award. I agree with this award choice.  He played D-Line and LB this season. He led the nation in solo tackles and total tackles. He had 102 solo tackles and 191 total tackles. He also had 89 assisted tackles which was 3rd most in the nation. He also had 3 INTs and 1 INT TD. His team only managed to go 4-8 with his great defense.

Jim Thorpe Award (Best DB): Morris Claiborne from LSU won this award. I agree with this award choice. He was an amazing defender all year long. Him and Tyrann Mathieu shut down who ever they faced. He had 6 INTs, 173 returning yards and 1 INT TD. He led the nation in INT returning yards and was tied for 5th in INTs. He helped his team to a 13-0 record and a SEC Championship and a spot in the National Championship.

2011 BCS Rankings Update: Week 15

The eighth and last BCS rankings of the year came out Sunday. This ranking is important because it decides which if a school makes a BCS bowl game or not and which two schools goes to the BCS National Title Game. I don't really like the BCS because it doesn't give every team a chance to compete for a National Title. I would prefer a 16 team playoff, that way if you lose you can still compete for the National Title. The only changes were Virginia Tech was upset by Clemson, Houston was upset by Southern Miss and Oklahoma lost to Oklahoma State. I will tell you which team is playing in each BCS Bowl and tell might thoughts on the Top 10. All mine bowl games predictions will come in a future post.

More Information: LSU toke care of Georgia. They fell behind 10-0 and then scored 42 straight points. Now they have beaten 8 ranked teams. They have only let opponents score an average of 10.5 points per game. With Houston losing, they are the only team left undefeated. They do have to face Alabama for the National Title. My thoughts on that game will come later, but this is the first BCS National Championship Game to feature two teams from one conference. My Rank: 1st

2. Alabama Crimson Tide 11-1 (1-1)

More Information: They are only letting opponents score an average of 8.8 points per game. They have Heisman candidate Trent Richardson is a beast running the football. Richardson has 1583 rushing yards which is 6th and 20 TDs which is 5th most in the nation. Even if the lost to LSU, they earned their rematch with LSU in the National Championship Game. They beat out Oklahoma State by 0.0086 points to earn #2 rank. My thoughts on that game will come later. My Rank: 2nd

3. Oklahoma State Cowboys 10-1 (7-1)

Next Game: vs. Stanford.
Last Game: vs. Oklahoma, W 44-10.

Bowl Game Invited To: BCS Fiesta. 

More Information: They beat Oklahoma by 34 points which made they look even better. They fell just  0.0086 points short of the National Championship. Teams like Oklahoma State is why I strongly believe that there should be a playoff. They have the same record of Alabama (11-1) and they are a conference champion and Bama is not. I think Alabama is better, but Oklahoma should get a chance instead of Alabama getting a 2nd try. They have a great offense averaging 49.3 PPG which is 2nd best in the nation. They have the best WR in the nation in  Justin Blackmon. He is tied for the 3rd most TD catches in the nation with 15 TDs catches and is 7th in the nation in yards with 1336. They are playing #4 Stanford in their bowl game. My thoughts on that game will come later. My Rank: 3rd

4. Stanford Cardinals 11-1 (8-1)

More Information: They finished the season 11-1. Andrew Luck is still a really good QB. He has 35 TDs and 3170 passing yards. Luck's 35 TDs is good for 5th most in the nation. They got an at-large bid to the Fiesta Bowl. They will play Oklahoma State. This game will very funny to watch because both teams put up a lot of points and they are ranked 3 and 4. My thoughts on that game will come later. My Rank: 4th

More Information: They toke care of UCLA to win the first ever Pac-12 Championship. They earned a spot in the Rose Bowl because they are the Pac-12 Champion. They have 2 losses one to LSU and the other to USC. Still Oregon's offensive is amazing again averaging 46.2 PPG. LaMichael James might be the best RB in the nation. They will play Wisconsin in the Rose Bowl. It will be interesting to watch the 2 teams put up a lot of points and watch James and Ball go at it. My thoughts on that game will come later. 6. Arkansas Razorbacks 10-2 (6-2)
Next Game: vs. Kansas State.

More Information: Arkansas didn't make a BCS Bowl because only 2 team can make it per conference and LSU and Alabama are playing in the National Title. Tyler Wilson has 3422 Passing Yards which is 14th most in the nation. They will play Kansas State which looks like a good game because they are ranked 6th and 8th. This bowl game looks like the best non-BCS Bowl. My thoughts on that game will come later. My Rank: 6th

More Information: Even being ranked 7th because they didn't win the MWC, they don't get to being a team that has a chance to make a BCS Bowl. Instead they will take on Arizona State in the Las Vegas bowl. My thoughts on that game will come later. Kellen Moore is very accurate with 41 TDs which is 2nd in the nation and only 7 INTs. He also has a 74.1% Completion Percentage which is 2nd in the nation. My Rank: 7th

Last Game: vs. Iowa State, W 30-23.

More Information: After beating Iowa State, they finished 10-2. I was very surprised when I heard they didn't make a BCS Bowl. I thought they would play Virginia Tech in the Sugar Bowl, but Michigan toke their place. They still got a very good bowl in the Cotton Bowl. They will play Arkansas which looks like a good game because they are ranked 6th and 8th. My thoughts on that game will come later. Colin Klein has been a very good dual threat QB. He has 2844 total yards and 38 TDs.  My Rank: 8th

9. South Carolina Gamecocks 10-2 (6-2)
Next Game: vs. Nebraska.
Last Game: vs. Clemson, W 34-13.

More Information: South Carolina finished the season 10-2. They only loses were to Auburn and Arkansas. They finished 2nd in the SEC East. In the first 7 games Marcus Lattimore was one of the best RB in the nation. In 7 games he had 818 rushing yards and 10 TDs. He was on pase for 1402 yards and 17 TDs in 12 games. South Carolina is a really good team, but because LSU and Alabama are in the National Championship and there is a two team limit per conference in the BCS South Carolina got left out. They will play Nebraska in the Capital One Bowl which will be an good game. My thoughts on that game will come later. My Rank: 11th

10. Wisconsin Badgers 11-2 (6-2)
Next Game: vs. Oregon.
Last Game: vs. Michigan State, W 42-39.

More Information: They beat Michigan State by three to win the Big 10 and earn a spot in the Rose Bowl. They two loses on the season were to Michigan State by 6 and Ohio State by 4. They were 3-1 against ranked teams this year. Russell Wilson was very good this year with 2879 passing yards and 31 TDs and only 3 INTs. They will play Oregon in the Rose Bowl. 2011 NCAA Football Conference Championship Games Predictions

The first week of December is also the week of the conference championship games. These games are important because he decides who wins conferences and who makes what bowl. Also in BCS Conferences winning your game means you earn a automatic BCS Bowl Bid. I will predict and tell little about the games. I will predict the ACC, Big Ten, Conference USA, MAC, Pac-12 and SEC's championship game.

ACC Championship Game: Virginia Tech Hokies vs. Clemson Tigers in Charlotte, NC.
The Virginia Tech Hokies have a record of 11-1 and 7-1 in the ACC and won the ACC Coastal Division by beating Virginia last week. Virginia Tech only loss was to Clemson at home in October. Since then they have 7 games and looked far good. Thomas has over 2500 passing yards, 18 TDs and 10 rushing TDs. Wilson has almost 1600 rushing yards with 9 TDs. 
The Clemson Tigers have a record of 9-3 and 6-2 in the ACC and won the ACC Atlantic Division. Clemson started out 8-0 but now have lost 3 of the last 4. They lost to Georgia Tech, North Carolina State and South Carolina all of which on the road. Boyd has been quite good. He has over 3300 passing yards with 28 TDs and 4 rushing TDs.
Prediction: I now Clemson beat Virginia Tech 23-3, but that was over 2 months ago. Since then no one has stopped Virginia Tech. David Wilson and Logan Thomas both and improved a lot since the the lost to Clemson. I don't think Clemson can slow them down again based on how they have play the last 4 weeks. I think Virginia Tech wins 31-23. Virginia Tech earns the Orange Bowl bid and mostly plays the Big East Champion.

Big Ten Championship Game: Wisconsin Badgers vs. Michigan State Spartans in Indianapolis, IN. 
The Wisconsin Badgers have a record of 10-2 and 6-2 in the Big 10 and won the Big 10 Leaders Division by beating Penn State last week. Wisconsin has been really good this year. Their only losses have come to Michigan State and Ohio State both on the road. Both games were both in October. Russell Wilson has been really good. He has almost 2700 passing yards, 28 TDs and only 3 Ints. He also has scored 5 rushing TDs. Ball has been amazing with over 1600 rushing yards and 29 TDs.  
Michigan State Spartans have a record of 10-2 and 6-2 in the Big 10 and won the Big 10 Legends Division. They only loss to Notre Dame and Nebraska on the road. Michigan State has been winning but has only beating Iowa with a winning record in the last 4 weeks. Kirk Cousins has been good this year with over 2700 passing yards and 21 TDs.
Prediction: Michigan State did beat Wisconsin 37-31 on a hail mary pass last time. I think though Wisconsin wants to win and get back to the Rose Bowl, Wilson and Ball control the game and Wisconsin comes out with a very close victory. I think it is harder to beat a team twice in 1 year than to beat a team you already lose to. I think Wisconsin wins 31-27. Wisconsin earns their 2nd straight Rose Bowl game and faces off vs. the Pac-12 Champion.

Conference USA Championship Game: Southern Miss Golden Eagles @ Houston Cougars.

The Houston Cougars have a record of 12-0 and 8-0 in the C-USA and won the C-USA West Division by beating Tulsa last week. They are the only undefeated team besides LSU and have been very good this year. They have a amazing offense. They average 52.7 PPG, which is top in the nation. Case Keenum is in the Heisman race. He 4726 passing yards, 43 TDs with only 3 INTs. He leads college football with passing yards and touchdowns. He is also 2nd in the nation with a 73.2 completion percentage. The only problem is they haven't played ranked team all year long, this is their first chance.
The Southern Miss Golden Eagles have a record of 10-2 and 6-2 in the C-USA and won the C-USA East Division. They lost to Marshall and UAB both on the road for their 2 losses this year. Losing to UAB looks bad because they have only won 3 games. They also have a good offense. They average 36.9 PPG. Austin Davis has been good with over 3000 passing yards and 24 TDs. They too have not played a ranked team until now. 
Prediction: Houston is undefeated and have won 10 of 12 games by 10 more points. Southern Miss has had two losses that look that good. I think that Southern Miss is good enough to stay with Case Keenum and Houston's offense. I think Houston will win 52-28. Houston will than be 13-0 and should make a BCS Bowl they will probably get to go to the Sugar or Fiesta Bowl.

MAC Championship Game: Northern Illinois Huskies vs. Ohio Bobcats in Detroit, MI.
The Ohio Bobcats have a record have a record of 9-3 and 6-2 in the MAC and won the MAC East Division.

Ohio has lost at Rutgers and Buffalo and at home vs. Ball State. Losing to Buffalo was a bad loss becuase they only have 3 wins. They have won 5 games in a row. Tyler Tettleton has been pretty good. He has 2868 passing yards and 26 TDs. LaVon Brazill is their best WR. He has 918 receiving yards and 10 TDs.
The Northern Illinois Huskies have a record have a record of 9-3 and 6-2 in the MAC and won the MAC West Division. They lost to Kansas and Central Michigan at home which are bad losses. Kansas only has 2 wins and Central Michigan only has 3. They also lost to Wisconsin. They have a really good offense averaging 39.6 PPG. Chandler Harnish has been a really good dual threat QB. He has 2692 passing, 23 TDs and 4 INTs. He also has 1351 rushing yards and 11 TDs. He has over 4000 total yards and 34 TDs. 
Prediction: I think that Chandler Harnish will be able to continue on what he has been doing this year. North Illinois offense has been very good averaging nearly 40 PPG and Ohio won't be able to keep up. I think North Illinois wins 41-27. I think North Illinois will be the 2011 MAC Champion.
 

Pac-12 Championship Game: UCLA Bruins @ Oregon Ducks. 
The Oregon Ducks have a record of 10-2 and 8-1 in the Pac-12 and won the Pac-12 North Division, they tied with Stanford but Oregon won the North because they won head to head. Oregon only losses are to LSU on a neutral field and USC at home. Oregon's LaMichael James has been really good with over 1400 rushing yards and 14 TDs. Darren also has been quite good. He has over 2200 passing yards, 27 TDs and only 5 INTs. De'Anthony Thomas their star Freshman also has been really good. He has 440 rushing yards and 5 TDs and 558 receiving yards and 9 TDs. Oregon has home field by virtue of the better record.
The UCLA Bruins have a record of 6-6 and 5-4 in the Pac-12. They placed 2nd in the Pac-12 South Division, but they are playing because has a postseason ban for this year and last. Johnathan Franklin has over 900 rushing yards which the team, but  Derrick Coleman has 11 TDs which leads the team. Nelson Rosario has been good with 1008 receiving yards. 
Prediction: UCLA doesn't even belong in this game so the winner is really easy to see. Oregon has been a Top 10 team all year and UCLA has been a middle of the road team. Oregon offense averages 46 PPG and UCLA defense gives up 31 PPG. Also under Chip Kelly only has one loss at home during his three years at Oregon. UCLA stands no chance. I think Oregon wins 55-14. Oregon earns a spot in the Rose for the 2nd time in 3 years and faces off vs. whoever wins the Big 10.       

SEC Championship Game: LSU Tigers vs. Georgia Bulldogs in Atlanta, GA.

The LSU Tigers have a record of 12-0 and 8-0 in the SEC and won the SEC West Division. LSU has easily been the best team in the nation. They are the only undefeated BCS Team. They also have beat 7 ranked teams. Their defense is great only allowing 10.6 PPG which is 2nd in the nation. Ford, Ware and blue their 3 RBs have been good. They all have aleast 400 rushing yards and least 6 TDs. Randle also has been good with 889 receiving yards and 8 TDs.     
The Georgia Bulldogs have a record of 10-2 and 7-1 in the SEC and won the SEC East Division. There 2 losses were to Boise State at a neutral field and to South Carolina at home. They have won 10 in a row since their losses. Their defense is good too. They only allow opponents to score 17.8 PPG. Aaron Murray has been very good. He has almost 2700 passing yards and 32 TDs. Isaiah Crowell has been their best RB. He has 832 rushing yards and 5 TDs.
Prediction: LSU has been great and don't think Georgia will be able to stop them. LSU's defense is too good and Georgia will struggle to score. Also LSU is 7-0 vs. ranked teams and Georgia is only 2-2 vs. ranked teams. Even with the game in Atlanta which is like a home game for Georgia, LSU is too good for a crowd to change the game. I think LSU wins 24-10. LSU would normally earn a Sugar Bowl bid, but with being the #1 in the nation, they should earn a BCS National Championship Game spot.
